[STRIP]Lossless for JPEG PNG WebPUpdated

Metadata remover

Remove location, names, device details and edit history from a file before you post it or send it. The cleaned copy is analyzed again so you can see what is gone and what is left.

Does removing metadata reduce photo quality?

Not here. Many tools redraw the picture and save it again, which re-compresses a JPEG. This remover works on the file's structure instead: it drops the metadata blocks and copies the compressed image data unchanged. The cleaned file is usually a little smaller because the metadata and embedded preview are gone.

Why PDFs need more than clearing the author

A PDF can be saved by appending changes to the end of the file. The PDF standard says these incremental updates leave the original contents intact, and that deleted objects stay in the file[2]. Text that was edited or covered may still be recoverable. The remover writes a new single-version PDF and drops objects nothing refers to any more. It does not redact visible content: a black box drawn over text is still content.

Word, Excel and PowerPoint: what to do in the app

Comments and tracked changes are part of the document, not just its properties, so removing them is a decision about content. The checker counts them and lists their authors. To remove them, Microsoft's Document Inspector is the reliable route: save a copy, then go to File, Info, Check for Issues, Inspect Document[1]. After that, run the copy through this remover and check it again.
